ad-sidebarSt Paul’s High School is a thriving, innovative educational community of more than 1500 students of all abilities, from children with learning difficulties in our Learning Support Centre to high calibre academic achievers in our AS, A2 and Applied Post-16 courses.

 

All classrooms are equipped as standard with interactive whiteboards, and students and staff are encouraged to make full use of technology for learning and teaching.

 

The school, which was established in 1966 with the aim of providing its pupils with a Christian education within the Catholic ethos, is situated on a modern campus in pleasant rural surroundings in the townland of Carrickbracken, County Armagh. St Paul’s High School was designated by the Department of Education as a Specialist College for Science in 2008, and the school was awarded the BECTA ICT Mark in 2009, and is a Centre of Excellence for ICT.

 

The school is keen to develop our partnership links with local third level institutions and we are eager to recruit a number of placement students to join the current team of specialists in our ICT Support Department from August 2013 until July 2014.

 

Two positions will be available for a twelve month period, and we wish to recruit highly motivated and committed students who are interested in gaining experience in the following areas:

 

Post 1:  Website development, provision and support.  St Paul’s High School boasts a suite of online platforms hosted using WordPress and Moodle CMS.  We are seeking a placement student who will help develop and support our current online platforms.  The successful candidate will be comfortable using Mac OS X and iOS software, and have some experience in working in an online environment, using a content management system, and using digital photography. 

 

Post 2: Video/audio content production.  The successful candidate will focus on producing high quality video and audio for the school’s online platforms, and for wider curricular use throughout the school.  The successful candidate will be comfortable using Mac OS X and iOS software including Final Cut Pro X and iMovie, and have some experience in working in an online environment, and using digital camera and sound equipment.

The successful candidates will be highly motivated, enthusiastic, flexible with excellent written and oral communication skills.
